How to get here
Since Dinner Plain is just down the road from Mount Hotham, you can fly into Hotham Airport or take the four and a half hour drive up from Melbourne.

Start the snow season off with a bang by attending the Giant Snow Dance Festival held every year on the Queen's Birthday weekend in Dinner Plain. With fireworks, food, drinks and dancing on the menu, having a good time is mandatory!
August boasts the exhilarating Dog Sled Challenge, Australia's Premier Sled Dog Race that is just about the best event of the year. If you miss this event don't worry, because you can book a dog sled tour anytime during the winter season.

The nearest medical centre is in Mount Hotham, a short 15 minute drive away and groceries can be purchased from the local supermarket during the winter or Easter seasons. Otherwise, you need to drive to Mount Hotham or Omeo for your shopping needs, however gourmet deliveries and grocery deliveries can be arranged to your accommodation.
There is a good range retail therapy in Dinner Plain (most residents like it this way), you can still enjoy a good meal or a drink with friends.
