Victoria's Beautiful Mount Hotham Resort
Nestled in the Victorian Alps, Mount Hotham is the highest Victorian ski resort and not only offers all the excitement of living in the snow, but also spectacular views over the mountains and plenty of outdoor activities for everyone, regardless of ability or time of year. Come for a weekend, a week, the entire season or buy your dream property and move right in!
There's nowhere else that offers so much adventure to singles, couples, families and empty nesters – Mount Hotham is always a fabulous place to stay whether for a moment in time or a lifetime.
Built on a high mountain ridge and with breathtaking views over the Highlands, Mount Hotham offers terrain to suit all fitness levels and interests with activities ranging from skiing, sled dog tours and snowboarding in the winter to 4WD trips, hiking and cycling during the warmer months.
How to get here
From Melbourne, it's just a short four and a half hour drive to reach one of the most beautiful areas in Victoria or you can fly into Mount Hotham's own airport from most major cities across Australia (both chartered and commercial flights fly into Mount Hotham, which is the highest commercial airport in Australia) and the resort is just 20km away.
Things to do
With 320 hectares of ski terrain and some of the most beautiful landscapes in Australia, Mount Hotham offers year round adventure. Take to the slopes in the winter and when the snow disappears, grab your hiking boots or mountain bike and hit the trails for some serious adventure!
Amenities, restaurants & bars
The Hotham supermarket provides everything you need to cook up a storm, as well as a post office if you need to send or receive mail and a medical centre open 7 days a week in Hotham over the winter season. You can also hire all the linen for your stay, as well as a local cleaner if you are staying for the season.
Zirkys is the spot for Apres ski, however also great to pop into for a meal or some retail therapy in the ski rental or luxury alpine boutique. The General and Swinders are both popular spots for a drink or an evening meal, but if you love craft beer (made from snow melt!) you can't miss a drink at the Blizzard Brewing Company, just down the road from Mount Hotham.
Alternatively, if you want a rest from the kids or just need some time on your own, why not drop the kids off at the Hotham Day-care and spoil yourself for the day?
